QSAC proudly announces the recipients of the 2024 Anita Smith Memorial Scholarship and the Eileen Breen Legacy Scholarship. These scholarships recognize outstanding staff members who exemplify dedication to their work while pursuing further education. The Anita Smith Memorial Scholarship supports staff pursuing undergraduate studies, whereas the Eileen Breen Legacy Scholarship focuses on supporting staff completing graduate studies.
The Anita Smith Memorial Scholarship has been awarded to Qiufang Cao, a Teacher Assistant at the Douglaston Preschool who is studying occupational therapy at NYIT, and Nikeya Colquhoun, a Group Leader at the Manhattan Day Habilitation Program who is pursuing psychology at Lehman College.
This year’s Eileen Breen Legacy Scholarship recipients are Atoya Green, a Benefits and Entitlement Supervisor studying social work at Fordham University, and Belinda Roman, a Staff Trainer at the Douglaston Preschool working toward her School Building Leader certification at Molloy University.
