Teacher Assistant (Whitestone , Bronx, and Douglaston Schools)

QSAC is seeking dedicated and energetic NYS Certified Teaching Assistants, who provide direct instructional services to students under the general supervision of a New York State certified teacher. The role focuses on one-on-one or small group instruction as outlined by the supervising teacher. Teaching Assistants support students’ recreation, motor, vocational, socialization and communication, leisure and motor skills through the use of behavior analytic teaching procedures.

Special Education Teacher (Whitestone, Bronx, and Douglaston Schools)

QSAC Special Education Teachers require NY State certification (Students with Disabilities/B-2, 1-6, 7-12). Teaching responsibilities include implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP), classroom management, participation in annual meetings, and completion of required reports. Extensive training and support are provided with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Kristen DuMoulin, Ph.D., BCBA, LBA, SAS

Dr. Kristen DuMoulin has been a devoted professional to the field of special education and individuals with autism since 1995. She joined Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC) in 2002 and is currently the Director of Children’s Clinical Services, where she is responsible for managing the clinical and administrative aspects of the Early Intervention (EI), Special Education Itinerant Teachers (SEIT), Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS) as well as the CPSE and OPWDD evaluation programs. She also oversees QSAC’s ABA private insurance program and is a lead instructor for the AutismEdu training program. Dr. DuMoulin is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and is a licensed behavior analyst in New York State. She is also a permanently certified New York State Special Education Teacher and School Administrator. Dr. DuMoulin received her doctorate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Psychological Studies in Education program. Her studies focused on the social and cognitive deficits of children with autism and her master’s degree thesis, which examined the relationships between general education teachers, typically developing peers and 2nd and 3rd grade inclusion students with autism, was published in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders[1].

Dr. DuMoulin is a devoted professional to the field of special education and individuals with autism. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor having taught courses in Autism Spectrum Disorder, Inclusion, and Teaching Strategies and Behavioral Supports. In 2012, she was part of the committee which developed the curriculum for the nation’s first online Bachelor of Arts program in Disability Studies. Her previous professional positions have included devising behavioral and habilitative goals for adult day programs, providing initial assessment and evaluations at an Autism Clinic, teaching school-aged children with severe behavior problems, providing in-home behavioral consultant for families and ABA service providers, and providing direct ABA services and supervision to children with ASD.

Cynthia Martinez, M.S.Ed., M.S., BCBA, LBA, SBL

Cynthia Martinez serves as the Senior Director of Education and oversees the school programs. Cynthia started as a service coordinator with QSAC in 2006. She joined the team at the Whitestone Day School as a Special Education teacher, was subsequently promoted to ABA Coordinator, and later was promoted to Director of the Whitestone Day School. Cynthia has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hunter College, City University of New York, a Master’s degree in Special Education from City College, City University of New York, a Master’s degree in School Building Leadership from Touro College, and a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from St. Joseph’s College. She holds professional certifications as a New York State Special Education Teacher and School Administrator. Cynthia is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and is a licensed behavior analyst in New York State (LBA).

Lesley Perlman, M.S.Ed, SAS

Lesley joined QSAC in October of 2019 to serve as the Curriculum Coordinator at the Bronx Day School.  She earned a B.A. in psychology from The Ohio State University, an M.S. in Special Education from Wagner College, an SAS Administration degree from Hunter College, and a Graduate Behavior Analyst Certificate from Pennsylvania State University. She holds permanent certifications as a New York State Special Education Teacher and School Administrator and Supervisor.  She is currently working on obtaining a BCBA certification and an Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) certification.

Jessica Rodriguez, M.A., M.S.Ed., BCBA, LBA

Jessica  joined QSAC in August of 2015 as a staff trainer and shortly after became the curriculum coordinator at the QSAC Preschool in Douglaston.  She  transferred to the QSAC Bronx School in 2022. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Skidmore College, a M.A. in  Applied Behavior Analysis  from Queens College, and a M.S.Ed., in General and Special Education (Birth-2 grade). She holds professional certification as a New York State Special Education Teacher  as well as national BCBA certification and Licensure as a Behavior Analyst (LBA) in New York State. 

Lillian Rothmaler, M.S.Ed, BCBA, LBA

Lillian joined QSAC in October 2008. She has served in various educational roles and currently as the Interim School Leader at the school in Whitestone. She earned a B.A. from Stony Brook University, an M.S. in Special Education in Inclusive Settings from Adelphi University, and a Graduate Behavior Analyst Certificate from Florida Institute of Technology. She holds professional certifications as a New York State Special and General Education Teacher, nationally certified as a BCBA, and is a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) in New York State.

Joseph Traegler, M.S.Ed., SBL

Joe currently serves as the Director of the Preschool and Early Childhood Center at QSAC. Joe began working at QSAC’s Preschool as a teacher in 2002. Three years later, he would be promoted to Clinical Supervisor of the Preschool, overseeing the writing and implementation of students’ IEPs, amongst other responsibilities. In 2015, he became Director of the program and now works to ensure that the Preschool’s educational services and practices are of the highest quality and fully compliant with all regulatory policies. Joe graduated Magna Cum Laude from St. John’s University with a B.A. in Elementary Education before returning for an M.S. in Early Childhood Special Education.
